Patricia A. Rogers, MD, FAAP, is a well-versed pediatrician who diagnoses and treats patients at UTMB Health Pediatrics Primary Care – Island West in Galveston, TX. Furthermore, she is a Professor of Pediatrics at UTMB and has been faculty since 1998 and is a creative and enthusiastic educator, faculty preceptor, and mentor. She joined UTMB Department of Pediatrics in 2004 and she has been a member of the Academy of Master Teachers at UTMB since 2007. “She has contributed to the implementation of curricular improvements, and also developed a resource for both Pediatrics and Family Medicine clinics entitled “Pat’s Pearls” that is used by the house staff to address specific clinical topics,” states the official website of the Academy of Master Teachers. Her extensive activities in teaching include serving as a mentor for the Renee Leannec Osler Student Society. Dr. Rogers has served on the Board of Directors for the Galveston County Health District (2002-2014) and has spent 13 years in private practice in Plano, Texas, prior to her current endeavors. Moreover, she is active with the Texas Pediatric Society and, in 2014, she became a John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine William Osler Scholar. In 2017, she received the Joseph T. Painter Distinguished Professorship in Teaching Excellence from the Academy of Master Teachers’ selection committee. Dr. Rogers has received 2 Educator of the Month Awards from the AMT, most recently in February 2019. She also had a recent Educator of the Month Award from The Academy of Master Clinicians.
